Training &
Consultation

Workshops, on-site training, and consultative services are accessible to parents, educators, childcare staff, and other professionals wanting guidance related to managing problematic behaviour, encouraging communication, and teaching skills for independence.

Workshops

Workshops can range in length from a half day to two full days, depending on the chosen topics. Please contact us to inquire about booking options and fees.

Managing Problematic Behaviour
This workshop is designed for teachers, therapists, early childhood educators, and others who provide direct service to children.  The content can be applied to children with any behavioural concerns and is not specific to children with a diagnosis of autism.  This interactive workshop will teach participants to identify functions of behaviour, strategies to both effectively manage problematic behaviour, and teach appropriate replacement behaviour.

Teaching Functional Life Skills to Individuals with Autism
This workshop is designed for teachers, therapists, early childhood educators, and others who provide direct-service to children and youth diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder. Participants will learn how to select appropriate functional skills to teach, pre-requisite skills that are necessary prior to teaching, and several strategies to teach these skills.

Understanding the Communication Deficit in Individuals with Autism
This workshop is designed for teachers, therapists, early childhood educators, and others who provide direct-service to children and youth diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder.  This workshop will explain in detail the communication deficit and how it presents across the spectrum. Participants will learn various strategies to communicate effectively and encourage communication opportunities with the children they work with.

On-Site Training

A unique and effective training tool that we provide is that of on-site training. This is available as a follow-up to any group who has participated in one of our workshops.  We will come and work hands on with your staff and directly with your students/children to implement the techniques discussed at the workshop.
