Relationship Building/Pairing
The very first step in any Verbal Behaviour program is for the IT to establish themselves as a conditioned reinforcer. This means that in order to begin teaching, the learner must find attention from others reinforcing. The overall goal of relationship building is that when the learner sees you, they should be running up to you and excited to work with you. Relationship building with children with autism is imperative to any good Verbal Behaviour program and is the first goal of ABACS staff when working with your child.
